Job Opportunities

Would you like to work towards protecting one of Greece’s most important natural heritage areas?

Based in Prespa, Greece, the Society for the Protection of Prespa (SPP) has been working for more than 30 years to protect the natural and cultural heritage of the transboundary Prespa region.

Working closely with all relevant stakeholders, the SPP has helped establish and support the operation of the Prespa Transboundary Park, ensure the ongoing scientific management of the habitats and species of the Prespa National Park, promote broad participation in decision-making at local and transboundary levels, and educate local communities, as well as generations of young scientists.

Our internationally acknowledged contribution to the impressive increase in Prespa’s Dalmatian pelican population, making the colony the largest in the world, together with its continued protection, is one of our proudest achievements!

We continue to build on this important work while developing new projects that respond to the region’s emerging needs. These include adapting to the climate crisis, promoting sustainable production practices that safeguard the landscape, strengthening institutions, deepening participatory processes and conducting applied research to support the active management of the area.

Would you like your work to contribute to the protection of an iconic region of global ecological significance? Send your CV and a cover letter to spp@spp.gr, and let’s explore how you can become part of a unique effort to protect a truly unique place.

Depending on the position, we offer competitive remuneration, ongoing opportunities for training and professional development and the possibility of flexible working arrangements.
