The watermill of Agios Germanos opens its doors!

The watermill of Agios Germanos opens its doors once again and welcomes visitors to a journey into tradition starting from Monday, April 29th.
Considering the enormous interest from visitors in the Prespa region, we are excited to announce that we decided to open the watermill exhibition!
All you need to know about the watermill before visiting
The efforts to restore the watermill of Agios Germanos have begun back in 1996. Twenty years later, with the support of the Stavros Niarchos and A.G. Leventis Foundations, not only did it operate on a trial basis, but it also won the Europa Nostra 2016 award for cultural heritage in the “restoration” category, as well as the Grand Prix award, while simultaneously being established as one of the most visited monuments of Prespa!
Today, eight years after the award and its operation, the construction of the second nearby watermill has been completed, and the auxiliary spaces are underway!
With the support of Stavros Niarchos Foundation, A.G. Leventis Foundation and PONT, the Municipality of Prespa, and the residents of the area, constructions are in progress, and soon the sound of rushing water through the millstones will once again bring life to the watermill! A pre-industrial monument that masterfully connects nature with Prespa’s tradition!
